Why ELP?

What IS ELP really all about?

Enlightened Learning Pathways was opened as an innovative support company for anyone aged 14+ that goes above and beyond traditional tutoring, test prep, or career building services and takes a multidimensional approach to learning. At Enlightened Learning Pathways, we share a passion for success with our clients, and we see that success when they better understand themselves as learners, see a connection with their future, and recommit themselves to daily work and involvement with an inspired feeling of efficacy and awareness.

Who is on the team at ELP and how do they help students?

ELP's staff has served high school students as teachers and administrators for the last 25 plus years at local schools including Loyola Academy, Stevenson, and Lake Forest. Our team of area certified teachers, passionate professionals, and adolescent care providers are driven by a mission to provide local students with a creative approach to tutoring and academic coaching that ranges from one-to-one subject tutoring (including AP courses), academic mentoring, homework/school project assistance, career coaching– and everywhere in-between. We don’t just help students with their school work, we help students find passion and direction – so that their school work becomes an important step in an exciting process of discovery. Local schools do excellent work with students, and our goal at ELP is to enhance the learning experience for each individual learner so that they approach daily work with a purposeful and meaningful end in mind and see both a renewed outlook on the school experience and improvement in grades.

How is ELP “different” than the “typical” tutoring or test-prep center?

At ELP, we believe that every student we work with is first and foremost an individual, creative, and independent being. We take the time to learn the strengths of our students, and work from those strengths in non-prescribed ways to find academic success. Most local and national tutoring and test prep companies follow formulaic pathways that amount to one size fits all. At ELP, we take a totally different approach, and we truly individualize instruction by meeting every student exactly where they are in the learning process. Because we taught in local high schools for many years, we understand the demands placed on students throughout the North Shore. Because we care about our students individually, we are able to turn student’s unique experiences and talents into short and long-term academic success. ELP students attain the success that THEY help define, not some formulaic design that claims to help every student.

Who is ELP for?

Because we are so centered on the individual learner, ELP is for EVERY student and/or career seeker. The staff at ELP firmly believes that every individual can learn, grow, and find multiple pathways to success. We would love to meet with you in our office and begin the journey of helping you.

Who will tutor me if I come to ELP?

ELP staff are experienced teachers and mentors who have either worked or currently work in local school districts. Each ELP staff member has taught every level of high school course - from support level to advanced placement - and has done so with a firm commitment to knowing each of their students as individuals. Please see ELP's testimonials page for a brief description from former students and parents that better defines who we are as educators, tutors, and mentors.
